Troubleshooting: License Activation

License says invalid or expired when it shouldn’t? Here’s how to fix it. Usually takes two minutes.

License issues are the most common support question I get. Here’s how to fix the most common ones yourself before you have to email me.

“License Invalid” on a brand new purchase

99% of the time this is a copy-paste issue. The license key is case-sensitive and the format is XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after. Use Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C from the email to copy the entire key cleanly.

License was valid, now it says “Invalid” or “Expired”

Possible causes:

  • Actual expiry – Your annual license renewed and the payment failed. Check your payment method and renew from your purchase account.
  • Server can’t reach the license endpoint – ManskiPort validates against eplemanski.com/. If your server has outbound request restrictions (some managed hosting does), the check fails and the license shows as invalid after the 7-day grace period. Contact your host and ask them to whitelist outbound connections to eplemanski.com/.
  • Moved to a new domain – The license is tied to the domain it was activated on. If you migrated your site, email me the new domain and I’ll update the license record.

Grace Period

ManskiPort has a 7-day grace period. If the license server can’t be reached (not your fault, could be my server), the plugin keeps working for 7 days before showing a notice. This prevents the plugin from going down because of something outside your control.

How to Re-Activate

Go to ManskiPort CRM > Portal Foundation > License. Clear the key field, re-enter your license key, and click Save. This triggers a fresh activation request.

If none of this works, email me at elijah@eplemanski.com with your license key and domain. I’ll look it up in the system directly and fix it. Usually resolved within a few hours.
