Mankai’s quote system is more than a static estimate. It has status handling and can convert approved work into a real session or project record.
Quote Statuses
- Draft
- Sent
- Changes Requested
- Approved
- Archived
What a Quote Can Store
- Client user, email, and name
- Line items and total price
- Notes and validity date
- Lead ID
- Session-specific fields in photographer mode
- Project-specific fields in developer mode
Photographer Quotes
Photographer-mode quotes can store session type, session date, session time, session duration, session location, and retainer amount before they are converted.
Developer Quotes
Developer-mode quotes can store project start date, project URL, payment mode, and revision limit before conversion.
Sending a Quote
When a quote is marked as sent, Mankai archives other active quotes for that same user so there is one clear active path instead of multiple conflicting versions.
Approval
Only sent quotes can be approved. Once approved, Mankai converts them into the correct entity type:
- Photographer mode: a session
- Developer mode: a project
Changes Requested
If the client requests changes, Mankai can store the reason and feed that back into communications and email events so the loop stays visible.
Why This Matters
You are not retyping the same information three times. The quote becomes the intake stage for the real record instead of a dead-end PDF that forces manual re-entry later.
