Why Mankai exists

My mom is a photographer. I got tired of watching studios rent their own businesses back, one subscription at a time.

I grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm, around two kinds of work that never stop: cows that need milking twice a day, and a photography business run from the kitchen table. The work was beautiful. The business side was a grind, and every year it got more expensive.

One tool for galleries. Another for contracts and invoices. Another for booking. Each made sense alone. Together they meant renting client lists, contracts, and galleries forever, with no real ownership if a subscription lapsed.

I build software for a living, so I built the system I kept wishing existed: booking, galleries, contracts, invoices, payments, email, and automation in one WordPress install you control. Your server. Your database. Your domain on every page and email clients see.

Own your platform. Own your data. Stop renting the business back one subscription at a time.

The license is annual. If it expires, there's a seven-day grace period to renew, and your stored business data is not deleted. There's no growth team designing the cancel flow. There's me, shipping updates, writing the docs, and answering support email. That's the deal I wish someone had offered my mom.

Her studio, Dandelion Soul Studio, runs Mankai in production. She is my mom. That relationship is stated up front on purpose. It is not an independent review.
